When can I apply for a provisional licence?

How many lessons will I need?

Research conducted by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has found the average canditate will need around 46 hours of professional tuition, with at least 20 hours private practice to pass their test.


Do you teach automatic?

No. Before you disregard learning in a manual, consider a trial lesson. A manual licence allows the holder to drive both manual and automatic vehicles, an automatic licence is automatic vehicles only.


How will I know when I'm ready for my test?

You will be taught to become self-critical of your driving and recognise your own faults, this way you will know yourself when you're ready. Test readiness is something you will regularly discuss on your lessons and we will always be honest, in return you should be honest with yourself, taking a driving test requires self confidence aswell as skill. We can also arrange for you to take a mock-test with a different instructor.


Is my progress monitored?

Yes. Your instructor will monitor your progress at the end of each lesson.


Do I need to complete the Pass Plus course?

No. You don't not need to complete Pass Plus. However, we highly recommend you do. As a provisional licence holder it is illegal to drive on the motorway. This means when you pass your test you will have no experience driving on a motorway. Pass Plus teaches motorway driving along with various other modules such as driving at night.


Can I pay by cheque?

No. You must pay by cash. Your instructor is happy to take you to a cash machine, but this will be during your lesson time. You must notify your intrustor at the beginning of your lesson if you need to visit a cash machine.


Do you do crash courses and intensive driving lessons?

No. Passing your test is the final objective of learning to drive not the only objective, you need to learn first. A driver needs experience and confidence; holding a full UK drivers licence with only five days experience is a worrying thought.
